The CASFAA Ambassador Mentoring Program matches new members with a seasoned CASFAA member to call or e-mail when they need help in their new profession or position. Ambassador Mentors also help new CASFAA members become acquainted with CASFAA and its opportunities for professional development, training, and volunteerism. Ambassadors identify their own areas of expertise and every effort is made to coordinate new administrators, counselors, and support staff with an appropriate mentor.
Currently CASFAA is looking to appoint an Ambassador in the north and in the south from each CASFAA segment. Ambassador activities include:
- Being available, mainly by phone or e-mail, throughout the year to answer questions for members from your segment who are new to CASFAA and/or the financial aid profession.
- May be called upon to put in an appearance as a CASFAA Ambassador at a local CASFAA training event to represent the personal side of CASFAA and let attendees know there are CASFAA Ambassadors who serve as mentors and are available to help members get connected within the Association.
- Ambassadors will receive an orientation packet with CASFAA resource information and a special nametag to assist them in their outreach efforts.
